Skip Stoner

Skip Stoner has appeared in 14 of the 17 Dan Coast books. He was first introduced in Coasts of Christmas Past: From the Tales of Dan Coast. The surfer dude slacker with a mysterious past has also appeared in the book, Charlie Hewitt: Bro Code. Skip didn't appear in the 15th Dan Coast book because that book took place at the exact same time as Bro Code. Skip is also mentioned in the Charlie Hewitt books, Wild Horses and Killer Cove.
Skip is the biological brother of Sam Dinkins (Charlie Hewitt), and the adopted son of Larry Stoner.

Leon

Leon, the cook at the Breakwater Bar and Grill, has appeared in all of the Sunrise City books as well as having a small part in Dead Asleep. Truck driver, Kelly Morgan, has been Cole's sidekick from the beginning of the Sunrise City Series. He has also had cameos in all three of the Jensen Beach books.

Tommy Franklin

Tommy Franklin is a detective with the Fort Pierce Police Department. He was Cole Ballinger's partner for a couple months when Cole was on the job. Tommy has appeared in all of the Sunrise City books, as well as, the Jensen Beach books. He is also mentioned in the Fernandina Beach book, Constant Maintenance, during a phone call between him and Rex Langley.

The Breakwater Bar and Grill regulars

Allison, Frank, Poco, Norma, and most of the other regulars at The Breakwater appeared in Dead Asleep, and Blast From the Past, the 3rd and 4th book in the Jensen Beach Series.

John Burton

John Burton, star of the Jensen Beach Series, appeared in Scapegoats, the 5th Sunrise City book.
Being an actor, and having been the star of one of Dan Coast's favorite cop shows, Law of the Land, his name was mentioned in A Note From the Grave, the 15th Dan Coast Book.

Kurt Powell

Just like John Burton, Kurt Powell has appeared in all of the Jensen Beach Books, and had a small part in Scapegoats.

Larry Stoner

Although Larry Stoner has never actually appeared in any of the books, his name has been mentioned in the Dan Coast books as being Skip Stoner's father. He has also been mentioned in the Fernandina Beach books, High Maintenance, Serial Maintenance, and Constant Maintenance. In the Fernandina books, he is said to be Gayle Langley's old Navy buddy, and now works for the FDLE. Larry is also spoken about in the book, Charlie Hewitt: Bro Code.

Harriet Penobscot

Harriet Penobscot is a minimal character who appeared in the Dunquin Cove book, Local Hero. She was the old woman at the meat counter in John Morgan's store. She was buying bologna for her husband Myron. Harriet later appeared in the Jake Stellar book, The Obedience of Fools when she and her husband Myron were questioned by Jake and Avis at their condominium in The Ocean Bay Club, in North Myrtle Beach.

Dunquin Cove Characters

David Cargill, John Morgan, Peg O'leary and a few other characters from the Dunquin Cove books appear as younger versions of themselves in the 1980s short story, "Farmhand," from my book of short stories, From Here to There.

Ben Dunning

Ben Dunning, (Wesley Hargreaves) is the lead character in the Dunquin Cove Series. He appears in all three Dunquin Cove books, as well as the third Charlie Hewitt book, Killer Cove.

Bob Phillips

Bob Phillips first appears in the book, The Man in Room Number Four. He is a regular guest at the Colsome House Bed and Breakfast. Being a traveling salesman, specializing in bathroom grab bars, it is mentioned that he stays at the B&B about once a year. Bob's name is mentioned in the 2nd and 3rd Dunquin Cove books.
During a phone call between Charlie Hewitt and Bob Phillips, in the Charlie Hewitt book, Wild Horses, we learn that Bob's job as a traveling salesman is just a front. Bob actually works for the same organization as Charlie, and is Charlie's handler. Bob also appears in the third Charlie Hewitt book, Killer Cove, where we learn that Charlie and Ben once worked together.

Spence Oller

Detective Spence Oller is the boyfriend 0f Cole's daughter Allison Ballinger. He has appeared in all of the Sunrise City books. Spence also has a connection to the Fernandina Beach books. In the book Serial Maintenance, Judy Oller, the bartender at Brett's Waterway Cafe, tells a Fernandina Beach police officer that her brother is a cop down in Fort Pierce.

Charlie Hewitt

Charlie Hewitt is the main character in the Charlie Hewitt books. Charlie, whose real name is Sam Dinkins, is a professional hitman. His name has been mentioned in Dunquin Cove's The Man in Room Number Four, Jensen Beach's Dead Asleep, and the stand alone novel, The Maine Events. In The Man in Room Number Four, when Ben Dunning, suffering from amnesia, comes to Dunquin Cove, he has three fake IDs in his possession. One of those fake IDs bares the name, Charlie Hewitt. In the Jensen Beach book, Dead Asleep, Charlie Hewitt is the name of the hitman/author. In The Maine Events, author Allen Crane tells Cam Owens that he's not as famous as Stephen king, but more famous than Charlie Hewitt. To which Cam replies, "Who's Charlie Hewitt?" "Exactly," Allen responds. Charlie also has a major roll in the book, Charlie Hewitt: Bro Code. In Bro Code we find out that Charlie's real name might be Sam Dinkins, and that he's the brother of Skip Stoner. Charlie also appears in the books, Wild Horses, Killer Cove, and during a flashback in the book A Turn of Events.

Cam and Mildred Owens:

Cam and Mildred Owens first appeared as Bed and Breakfast guests in The Man in Room Number Four. Later, they appear in the book, The Maine Events, where Cam has a major role.

Harrison Harrison

Palm Beach Attorney, Harrison Harrison, is featured in the Dan Coast book, Another Mother. He is the father of Maggie Harrison, the young girl who hires Dan and Red. At the beginning of Dig Two Graves: Sunrise City 4, Cole Ballinger walks up the street to the news stand and purchases the morning paper. He reads the headline aloud: Body Of West Palm Beach Attorney, Harrison Harrison, Washes Ashore In Jensen Beach Park.

Tank Lyman

Tank Lyman is a security guard at The Saint Lucie Medical Center who first appeared in Scapegoats: Sunrise City 5. He is also a professional wrestler and bodyguard. Eric Stone is an investigator with the Town of Webb Police Department in Old Forge, NY. He has appeared in two short stories in the book, From Here to There, as well as, Winter Camp, the 19th Dan Coast book.
It should also be mentioned that Eric has the same last name as a character who was mentioned in The Man in Room Number Four. That character is Jason Stone, the third name on the IDs possessed by Ben when he first arrived at the B&B.

The Long Branch Saloon

The Long Branch Saloon, in Lake City Florida, is first mentioned in the Fernandina Beach book, Serial Maintenance. Rex and Gayle Langley visit the bar in search of missing truck driver, Cruz Salas.
